[accepting rotterdam] NFT collection out now

During the last 2.5 years I have been moving in every 5 months. Whatever I did, when the fifth month comes near, something happened so I needed to move to another place. Living as a nomad has its perks, but it is also quite bizarre to always think about “let’s not get this with me, because it will be more of a hassle to move it”.

My latest moving was from Sofia to nowhere (travelling for 2 months without a home) and then to Rotterdam. The process of accepting a new town; and a new town to accept you, has many phases. These are 10 of them. They are not always coming in this order. They might also repeat, or we skip some of them. Or there are other phases that are true for you. However, these 10 were now illustrated by me, because I went through them recently (in the last 3 months). Surely, more are coming, but it’s also nice to finally wrap up this year. It’s been a crazy one (again).

This project has 10 illustrations that I am now dropping on my NFT shop. There is also a printed booklet with all of them, which I bounded myself. There are 10 copies of it and each one of them has a unique cover hand-drawn by me and also annotated differently. The collector of each piece will get one of those booklets.

[keep our trees safe]

'keep our trees safe' was my submission for the creative challenge organised by TED & Fine Acts "artists for countdown". (It was not selected but still worth sharing, I guess. See the beautiful selection here)

Looking for a positive message, I created the first piece with the green trees. Then, whilst playing with various colour combinations, I really liked the trippy version with orange - which also felt quite relevant to the current worldwide situation. I am thrilled every time when the colour changes the context. Now, the two together make the full artwork. Would you agree? 🙂

This work is available to purchase on Foundation.

The collector will get:

✦ the original artworks in 3508x4961px;

✦ files for printing posters x3;

✦ the animated trippy .gif;

✦ my eternal gratitude.

[the thousand-foot journey]
[the thousand-foot journey]

After a year in sort-of-isolation and hiding from COVID-19, I got back to travel this Summer. Only on land, by train and car, I travelled more than 5500 km around Europe. I got to test how is it to pass so many borders after a year of travel difficulties, restrictions and danger.

What a journey! It was full of emotions - anxiety, excitement, fear, happiness… Each stop was filled with those and therefore, I coloured them. To see them. My journey is depicted as tree branches, growing to the final destination of my trip - Rotterdam. Or it is a spilled ink on the map… Or something else that you see?

🔸digital art, A2 for print, September 2021 (Rotterdam).

Process ☟

The animation below shows the process of this work. I started by mapping my journey on the map and then played a bit with the colours of the emotions, their “amount” and strength. The names of the cities I’ve stayed in are written in subtle grey all over the canvas as a final touch.
