'Don't Put Cilantro In My Dish, Please!' ~ digital fanzine (digital download)

€5.00

When I moved to Rotterdam in 2021, cilantro (aka coriander) was everywhere: in every café, in every vegetarian dish. And I couldn't understand why anyone would willingly eat something that tastes like a stink bug.

Turns out: it tastes different for some people. Science says that 4–14% of the human population carry a genetic variation (a single-nucleotide polymorphism, if you want to get nerdy about it) that makes cilantro smell and taste soapy, dirty, or like raw fat. For me: pure stink bug (we’re around 4-5%). How lucky I am!

So in 2022 I made a zine about it.

Don't Put Cilantro In My Dish, Please is a small, illustrated fanzine that walks you through the #cilantroversy — the great cilantro divide that splits humanity into two very passionate camps. It includes a blank space for you to draw how you experience the taste.

I carry it in my bag sometimes. It's always a lovely conversation starter.

Here you can get a digital version of it and share it with your friends and family!
Thank you for supporting my art practice <3
